A Note from your Past President

January brings the conclusion to my presidency of PPOC-BC. I have enjoyed the challenge of guiding our association towards a new operating plan and overseeing the emergence of the new brand for PPOC-BC. It has taken a full 2 years to close the old PPABC office and transfer most of the member support services to the PPOC office. PPOC restructuring is still progressing, from the various individual provincial organizations to a single national organization.

As this restructuring progressed in our province during the past two years, your board has shouldered the extra burden to supply previously contracted member and management services. A vacuum was created between the time the office was closed until the finalizing of negotiations to have PPOC office take over the work. I would like to acknowledge the exceptional hard work of the board during this period. It is this extra commitment to our organization by our members on the board that I am grateful for. This single point alone has allowed your organization to regain its financial stability. You will be pleasantly surprised with the 2011 Balance sheet at the AGM in March. I am looking forward to continuing to serve the association as Past President and Treasurer in 2012

2012 brings our association to a solid position, a growing membership and a fresh board of directors.

Rob Salmon

President 2010 to 2011
